Daniela Oey received a degree in Biochemistry before returning to a childhood love — art. While working part-time in health info data analysis, she is pursuing a change of career to become an illustrator and painter. At one time this artist decided to try designing. She created seven lovely designs, before making the decision to stay with her first love, painting.
Jo Gatenby (chief designer for X’s & Oh’s) met Daniela when they each joined the Needlework Designers of Canada, and came to Toronto to do a show with the group. When Daniela decided not to continue designing, she contacted Jo and asked if X’s & Oh’s would be willing to market her existing designs, the first three of which are currently available. She also sent along some samples of her original artwork, which intrigued Jo even more then her cross stitch designs had!
X’s & Oh’s is now pleased to be able to offer several charts which Jo has converted Daniela’s creative and original artwork to needlework.
